About Saline Microblading Removal
WHAT IS Li-FT?
Li-FT is one of the most popular saline tattoo removal products worldwide. It is a safe, powerful and effective way of removing unwanted pigment from body tattoos and permanent makeup, and can be used on brows, lips and even near the eyes. The solution contains no acids or chemicals so it is gentle on the skin and doesn’t risk scarring like some other methods.
Li-FT is effective at lightening/removing pigment that has been sitting within the skin for years, and lightening/removing freshly tattooed pigment using a specialist emergency removal technique (if done within 48hrs). The saline removal treatment works by lifting the pigment up and out of the skin, and can even help to soften any scar tissue that is in the area. As with any form of removal, multiple session are likely to be needed - this will be judged on a case by case basis
*Please do not try any ‘DIY’ methods, creams or non-professional removals - they are NOT effective, and carry some huge risks that could permanently damage your skin.
Questions About Eyebrow Tattoo Removal
PMU & MICROBLADING REMOVAL FAQs
-
There are many factors that will affect how many removal sessions are needed, such as colour, saturation, skin type, scar tissue and location. On average 2-5 sessions are required, each taken 8-12 weeks apart so patience and persistence is key.
If you are planning to have your eyebrows redone after removal then you may not require as many sessions, but again this would depend heavily on colour and saturation.
-
Some clients see a difference in as little as one session! It varies from person to person, but rest assured that each and every session the pigment will be pulled further and further out the skin - this happens at different rates for different people, but it WILL happen.
-
Laser works by breaking the pigment down into smaller pieces that will then be removed by the body through the immune system. Saline however, works by lifting the pigment up and out of the skin.
Both will require multiple sessions and both can be very effective, however laser does struggle to remove yellows & whites, and it can affect the integrity of the skin meaning that re-tattooing can be difficult (which is not ideal if you plan on having your brows redone).
-
The treatment is no more painful than your original tattoo. We use numbing creams beforehand to ensure you are as comfortable as possible, and the treatment itself is fairly quick. You may experience a slight stinging sensation but that’s all!
-
Saline removal works by the process of osmosis. The water in the cells beneath the pigment contain a low concentration of salt therefore when the saline solution with a high concentration of salt is implanted into the skin the cells move upwards from the area of low concentration to the area of high concentration, lifting the pigment with it.
-
The saline solution is implanted into the skin using either a machine or microblade - it’s exactly the same process as when your brows were first done, however instead of pigment we use the saline solution.
-
The treatment usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour for eyebrow removal.
-
Yes saline removal can be very effective on saturated brows. Laser tattoo removal may be a quicker option for very dark over-saturated brows, however saline can also be very effective if you don't want to try laser!
-
No, it's important you avoid applying makeup to the area until any scabs have naturally fallen off. This is important to ensure a good healing process as makeup may harbour bacteria that could cause infections.
-
You can have emergency removal done within the first 48 hours following an unsuccessful microblading treatment. After that you must allow the brows to heal for around 5/6 weeks before starting the removal process.
Li-FT MICROBLADING REMOVAL PRE & POST TREATMENT ADVICE
-
Stop the use of any Vitamin A (retinol, retinal, retinaldehyde, etc) for one week before your treatment
Please avoid the use of sunbeds or tanning in natural sun for one week before your appointment. We cannot treat skin that is sunburned.
Please advise us if you have any eczema, psoriasis, cuts, scabbing or any other skin condition in the brow area before you book as your treatment may not be able to go ahead.
Please refrain from any anti-wrinkle or filler treatments for two weeks before removal
Please avoid alcohol, caffeine, and anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen for 24 hours before your appointment
-
Please keep the area clean and dry
We advise avoiding any heavy exercise, swimming, saunas and steam rooms etc.
As the skin heals it is important not to itch, pick or pull as this could cause unnecessary trauma and affect your healed result
After any dryness/scabbing has subsided you should apply a Vitamin E aftercare balm to aid the skin's healing
After 8 weeks you will return for a follow up session, where we can assess your results and perform further removal if necessary
