FACIAL TREATMENT FAQ
Booking in for a treatment with a new practitioner can be daunting, especially if this is your first ever facial. In order to help ease the process we have dedicated a whole page to answer some of the questions we get asked most often – if the question you have isn’t on here then you are welcome to contact us directly.
This will be my first ever facial – what do I need to do?
That’s amazing, thank you for choosing me! Treatments take between 45 minutes to 1hr 15 minutes, and we can discuss all aspects of your and it is likely I will make some product recommendations to help you improve your current skincare routine. It is preferred for you to come without makeup, and no need to bother washing your hair as it may get wet – please check out my pre-procedure advise for more info on how to prepare for your treatment.
I know facials are relaxing, but is there more to it than just feeling good?
Yes! Monthly facial treatments combined with a great at home skin routine should not be considered a luxury, but a necessity for anyone who wants to take care of and improve the health of their skin. We use cleansers, scrubs, serums and masks along with some amazing skincare tools during our treatments to achieve glowing, hydrated and rejuvenated complexions. You’ll definitely leave feeling relaxed after a facial massage, but rest assured our treatments are results driven too!
Is it really necessary to wear sun protection every day?
This is the MOST important piece of skincare advice I give to my clients. We cannot stress enough how important it is to wear sun protection daily, come rain or shine. Wearing SPF is the key to preventing signs of ageing, and of course skin cancer. We recommend a minimum of SPF 30 and reapply every few hours if in direct sunlight. We have a number of SPF’s available to purchase, just drop us a message for more info.
What do you use during the treatments?
We are proud to use cosmeceutical skincare brands in our treatments, which means our products are scientifically proven to deliver change in the skin. We are also able to provide you with medical grade skincare to upgrade your at home care and really maximise your results.
Do you have facial products for melanin-rich skin?
Our products are suitable for all skin types and ethnicities.
I’m pregnant - can I still get a facial?
You can indeed, but certain treatments like chemical peels won’t be suitable - do please inform us so that we can ensure your safety and comfort throughout your treatment.
How often should I get a facial?
This really depends on you and the results you want to achieve? We recommend facials once a month, followed up with a solid at home skin routine to get the best results for your skin. What you are putting on your skin daily is what will really bring about change in your skin, so if you are struggling on what to use or not getting results with your current products please ask us – we are more than happy to help you out.
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning gives a really deep exfoliation and will leave your skin glowing and baby smooth. We use a surgical blade to gently remove the vellus hair and dead skin to reveal a rejuvenated, brighter complexion.
Does the hair grow back thicker/darker?
No. Dermaplaning will not alter the hair growth AT ALL – it its physically impossible. I have been Dermaplaning myself for years now and I haven’t grown a beard yet!
Will my skin look red afterwards?
Some clients do experience redness after their treatment, this is completely normal and typically subsides within a few hours..
Will my skin look red afterwards?
We advise you wait until the day after your treatment before applying makeup.
